If your fiancée / fiancé has done most of your wedding planning, why not give her or him a break and take control of your honeymoon planning? From choosing a romantic destination, booking amazing accommodation and planning a few awesome activities, here are a few tips to make your planning easier.
Knowing what your future wife or husband expects from a honeymoon is a good place to start. Whether it’s a surprise honeymoon or one they’ve dreamed of, make sure you two sit down and know what is expected.
Picking the destination can either be the easiest or most difficult part of planning your honeymoon. Since you’ve already preplanned and know whether your partner wants a beach, snow, or adrenaline-pumping honeymoon, you now just need to pick a destination. Make sure you choose somewhere that is special to both of you, or an exciting place neither of you has been before.
Besides being super romantic, make sure whatever type of accommodation you book has some privacy - you don’t want to be right next to the reception area where you can hear everything going on outside. If you tell the staff that it’s your honeymoon you might be pleasantly surprised, as most places go out of their way to organize something special for newlyweds.
Plan to do activities that you will both love and remember forever. Here are some romantic ideas to consider:
- Private dinner – pre order your partner’s favorite food and drinks.
- Find out if there’s a spa in the hotel or nearby and book a couple’s massage
- Arrange a private tour - do activities without the distraction of other people.
- Try something neither of you has ever done before like scuba diving, horseback riding, or going on safari.
