Stay at Blue Lagoon Hotel complete with a private pool

The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland's most well-known and well-loved destination hotspots. Its location between Keflavik airport and Reykjavik means that you can start your honeymoon in style as soon as you land in Iceland- off the plane, into the pool! Soak in the luxurious thermal pool, where you can toast your happiness at the in-pool bar or treat yourself to a massage. There's even a restaurant on site so you can continue your Blue Lagoon experience into the evening. Why stop there? The Blue Lagoon hotel is a calm and peaceful place to spend the night and offers a private pool for that extra feeling of getting away from it all.

Watch for the Northern Lights in Luxury

One of the best reasons to visit Iceland on your honeymoon is to spot the indescribable Northern Lights. Visible anytime between September and April, the peak time for seeing the Lights in Iceland is October to March, where good forecasts can bring the most vivid colours dancing across the night sky. To increase your chances of seeing the Aurora we always recommend staying in the countryside, away from light pollution in the city (although you can see the Lights from Reykjavik as well). Hotel Grimsborgir is one of our favourite places to stay in the countryside. This beautiful hotel offers 4* rooms and an excellent view, and its friendly staff provide a wake-up call service so you won't be staying up all night to look for the Lights.

If you're after something more novel on your honeymoon, why not look for the Lights through the roof of your hotel room? Try out the bubble hotel in Keflavik, where you can lie beneath the stars and be surrounded by Icelandic woodland - it's a fairytale location, with the opportunity to see the most wondrous greens and blues streaking overhead. Sounds magical, right?

Helicopter Romance

Iceland is beautiful from pretty much every angle - even when flying in you'll be able to see the mountains and lava fields of this volcanic country, an amazing sight. To explore Iceland from overhead, take a helicopter tour over Reykjavik and marvel at the charming colourful houses you can see spotted below. From cities to mountain ranges in no time, you'll be amazed that this is still the same country! Stop atop a mountain and admire the view - it is bound to take your breath away, and it's a perfect view to share with the love of your life.
