We’re so proud to have picked up the Best Travel Blog Award for companies at the UK Blog Awards #UKBA16, held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in London on Friday night.

79,000 votes in the public voting stage ensured that more than 2,000 entries in 18 categories were narrowed down to a top ten shortlist for each of the individual and company categories.  We'd like to thank you all for your support and votes that got us to the final, a fantastic achievement.

More than 600 people attended the final on Friday, including sponsors, journalists, expert industry judges, as well as some of the UK’s most talented bloggers.  The event was hosted by the UK Blog Awards founder and MD, Gemma Newton, and last year’s winner of the Digital and Technology award and BBC reporter, Kate Russell.

When it was announced that we had won, shock and disbelief are the only words that can be used to describe the feelings of DWD founder, Justin Miners, who picked up the award.

To be shortlisted in the travel category alongside WWF-UK, Into The Wild: Frontier, Thomson Holidays, and A Luxury Travel Blog, to name just a few, was quite overwhelming.  Congratulations to all the finalists and in particular to WWF-UK and Into The Wild: Frontier who were highly commended.
